'A Gatsby Affair' at BLHS Prom

Big Lake High School held their prom Saturday. The theme was A Gatsby Affair. Jen Spaulding and John Bruns emceed the Grand March in the afternoon.
Approximately 170 couples and a handful of singles made the Grand March at 4 p.m. in front of their friends and family. The backdrop featured a sweeping staircase and lots of lights.
After Grand March, couples went to eat before returning to dance the evening away in the transformed gymnasium to the music and light show of Spinning Sound Entertainment.
Prom faculty advisors were Connie Crocker, Mary Curto, Bob Dockendorf, Angie Folch, Denise Gloudemans, Jen Gritman, Brittany Gronewald, Darin Hansen, Loren Holthaus, Thayne Johnson, Nick Keenan, Mark Spanier and Jackie Thompson. 
The Junior Prom Committee members were Clare Adams, Sarah Arbogast, Katherine Blue, Isa Brady, Nicole Braegelmann, Marcus Casperson, Autumn Clyde, Katrina Cocchiarella, Laicole Dobie, Mikayla Frederick, Sam Harbeck, Anelia Hultin. Taylor Krebs, Hallie Lacznik, Megan Leesberg, Caitlin Loeffler, Lauren McCreery, Alex Murnane, Courtney Nelson, Erica Olson, Tara Peterson, Laurel Pietrzk, Morgan Prichard, Kayla Rush, Sam Sartwell, Madison Starr, Michaela Trutna and Ashley VanderHeyden.
The prom comittee thanked Chris Lommel Photography, Dean-O-Mite Entertainment, the Big Lake Police Dept., the BLHS Student Council, Coborn’s, Steve’s Elk River Nursery and the high school staff and custodians for all their help in putting the event together.
