The purpose of the amendment is to update the original agreement dated April 19, 1993, which has now expired. The ordinance grants Northern States Power Company, a Minnesota Corporation, D/B/A XCEL Energy, it successors and assigns, permission to construct, operate, repair and maintain in the City of Clearwater, an electric distribution system and transmissions lines, including necessary poles, lines, fixtures and appurtenances, for the furnishing of electric energy to the City, its inhabitants, and others and to use the public grounds and public ways for the City for such purposes.
