Sherburne County  is helping people in the community get connected with technology. Last week, the county board approved a plan by the Information Technology (IT) Dept. to use PCs for People to recycle and refurbish the county’s older computers so they can be distributed to people who need computers - at no cost.
It’s all about the numbers.   How those numbers eventually shake out will tell the success of Big Lake School’s second excess levy referendum, set for November.

In the Becker Blast tournament June 20-21.  The girls also took 2nd place in gold division at the Coon Rapids Cardinal Classic tournament June 13-14.

The first Minnesota High School League State trap shooting competition at Prior Lake got off to a soggy start last weekend, Coach Rhonda Eckerdt reported.

By Ken Francis Staff Writer The Big Lake American Legion baseball team lost three games over the past week. Thursday, Monticello scored six runs in the seventh inning to beat the Hornets, 10-4.

FOURTH AND FIFTH GRADERS learn archery at school, thanks to a grant from NASP, which paid for equipment which is shared between two schools.

Fourth and fifth grade students in Liberty and Independence Schools in Big Lake have an opportunity to learn the basics of archery, thanks to a grant the school district received last year.

Acucraft Custom Fireplaces, located just west of Big Lake on Hwy. 10,  burned up in a fire in the early hours of Sunday morning.
