The annual Spud Fest Spooktacular Trail of Terror through the Woods of Despair drew big crowds Friday and Saturday to Borcherts Woods on 243rd Avenue in Orrock Township.

Big Lake Police Investigator Rich Berg will be riding his bicycle 250+ miles for Law Enforcement United – Road for Hope 2015 to raise money for families of officers who have died in the line of duty. The ride will take place May 10-12, 2015 from Virginia to Washington D.C. Officer Berg is trying to raise $5,000.

Barbara Jean (Orton) Whitcomb ended her earthly journey to join Our Heavenly Father in her new journey Oct. 20, 2014 after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Barb was born in Princeton, to Elwood and Dorothy (Wiley) Orton July 9, 1964.

Big Lake celebrated manufacturer’s Week Tuesday with a special lunch at the Carousell Works Historic Events Center and a tour of Paragon Fixtures in the Big Lake Industrial Park.
