August David Brutger, stillborn, was delivered on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Private graveside services will take place at St. Anne Catholic Cemetery in Kimball, Minnesota. Fr. Thomas Olson will officiate the Rite of Committal.

Saturday morning was the second annual Big lake Bike Rodeo, sponsored by Big Lake Community Education, the Big Lake Lions, KleinBank and the Big Lake Police Dept. Young riders and their parents met with officers in front of Independence Elementary School.

Joy Plamann, MBA, RN, BC, medicine care center director of St. Cloud Hospital, has been honored by The Women’s Health Leadership TRUST for providing leadership excellence in health care. Plamann received the award during the organization’s 2015 Forum in Minneapolis Apr. 21.

Third graders at Liberty Elementary School presented Squirm, a wiggly, giggly, squiggly musical written by Jacob Johnson and John Higgins. The third graders from Ms. Hagberg, Ms. Jude, Ms. Nelson, Ms. Rohrbach and Ms. Wanners’ classes were directed by music Teacher Adam Tulkki.
Big Lake Middle School choir students presented their spring concert last week with the sixth grade choir under the direction of Sheri Lieffering. The concert began at 6 p.m. with the select choir singing Seasons of Love, arranged by Mac Huff.

Sherburne County Health & Human Services (HHS) is continuing its efforts to improve the health of its citizens. One of the biggest health issues in the county, state and the nation is obesity, and HHS has been implementing programs to get people to exercise more and eat healthier.
