Matthew Trutna, 15, was the winner of Saturday’s third annual Team Liam 5K with a chip-time of 18:24.52. Close behind him with a time of 19:23.53 was 26 year-old Aaron Zierdt of Lupulin Brewery.

Kathleen R. Huber, age 61, of Clearwater died Sunday, July 26, 2015 at her daughter’s home in St. Cloud under the loving care of her family and CentraCare Health Home Care & Hospice.

Students from Jennifer’s Dance Center will again be performing at Disney World in Florida in October. All the dancers traveling to Florida are from the Big Lake and Monticello area.

When one thinks of a mission trip, one usually thinks of a Christian group venturing to an impoverished country far away to spread the Gospel, rebuild communities and bring supplies, medicine or food to exotic locations.

CentraCare Health-Monticello is celebrating 50 years of caring for the community with a picnic in Ellison Park, Monticello, Thursday, Aug. 6, from 3-7 p.m. Families are invited to attend for a picnic lunch, with complimentary popcorn and snow cones, a bounce house, live music, an ambulance tour and a petting zoo.

BLMS SEVENTH GRADERS created this beautiful model of the Hornet in a three-week Hornet Hour class taught by Mr. Jeff Vogel (far left). In the short time the class was together, the boys got a real taste of the metal trades as the learned to cut, debur, weld, bend and paint metals.
