Sherburne County could soon be joining with three other counties to form an economic development district.

SOLDIERS LETTERS. The Minnesota Military Veterans Family Tribute (MFT) project is seeking items of correspondence from Sherburne County veterans from the Civil War through today for possible inclusion on the Story Stone each county will have on the memorial now under construction on the State Capitol Mall in St. Paul. The photo depicts an artist's rendition of the material to be etched on the stones, one for each of the 87 counties in the state.

Visitors overwhelmed the Big Lake Fire department open house Sunday as the community turned out in force for the Fire Safety Week open house. The event even drew visitors from across the river.

Fire destroys Gustafson Trailers building

A four-alarm fire at Gustafson Trailers in Becker Twp. destroyed the main building located at 14747 165th Ave. SE at Hwy. 10 and Co. Rd. 11 Tuesday afternoon.

The Big Lake Lioness held their annual garage sale in Lions Park off Co. Rd. 5 Saturday morning. Funds from the sale will go to support some of their other endeavours throughout the year.
