Last year Big Lake runner Amy Visci was in Boston, preparing to run the famous marathon, when she got some sad news from home. Baby Liam Schumacher, son of Lance and Jennifer Schumacher, sadly passed away in the arms of his loving family April 14, 2013.

The Sherburne Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) will host the third-annual Missis-sippi River Watershed Event Thurs., April 24 from 4-7 p.m. at the Monticello Community Center, according to Watershed Coordinator Tiffany Determan.

A small but enthusiastic group turned out for the “Day at the Museum” program at the Sherburne History Center last Saturday morning, where they enjoyed free popcorn and beverages while watching a screening of the hit comedy “Night at the Museum”, which features Ben Stiller and Robin Williams in a museum that comes alive at night.

The Big Lake Women of Today annual Easter Egg Hunt drew a crowd of well over 1,000 people to Lakeside Park Saturday.  Around 440 children  from babies to 12-year olds, took part in the event, gathering up 13,000 eggs stuffed with candy in record time.
