Possession/Distribution of Child Pornography Charges Filed

On August 8, 2013 an investigation was forwarded to the Big Lake Police Department, by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension regarding a suspect possessing and distributing child pornography in the City of Big Lake.  An Agent of the MN BCA was alerted to the suspected activity through a file sharing site commonly utilized for distribution of child pornography; he shared the results of his initial investigation with an Investigator from Big Lake Police.

September 24, 2013 a search warrant was executed jointly by the MN BCA and Big Lake Police at the residence of Luke Blegen.  During the execution of this warrant, several computer and electronic data storage items were seized.  As a result of the examination of these items, and the prior investigation, charges were filed August 11 against Luke Blegen (Age 34 – Big Lake) for;  3 Counts – Felony – Possession of Pornographic Works on Computer or Electronic Device, and 4 Counts – Felony – Dissemination of Pornographic Works.
