The August Book Sale will be held Friday, Aug 2 and Sat, Aug. 3. Adults and teens 15 and older can learn the basics of simple basket weaving using newspaper. The two-part program will take place Sat Aug. 3 & 10, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Local artist Amy Payne will instruct participants. She has created baskets using a variety of materials. In this two-part workshop she will teach participants how to prepare newspaper materials and the weaving techniques to make a basket of their own. The attendance limit is 15 and preregistration is required. This program is funded in part with money from Minnesota’s Art and Cultural Heritage Fund. This camp is for kids ages 7 to 13 taking daily asthma medications.
