Mahjong class. This class for adults is scheduled for Sat, Nov. 16, 23, 30 and Dec. 7, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Players will be assigned partners to play the game. Mahjong is an ancient Chinese tile game which combines skill, strategy and luck as players try to assemble a perfect hand (similar to the card game rummy).
Participants must commit to all four sessions. If the class is popular, it may be extended. Registration is required.
Children ages 3 to 7 are invited to Gobbling Up Books Storytime Tues, Nov. 19, 10 to 11 a.m. Children will enjoy stories, songs and a craft. The attendance limit is 24 and preregistration is required.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Minnesota sponsors free support groups for families who have a relative with a mental illness. Led by trained facilitators who also have a family member with mental illness, the support groups help families develop better coping skills and find strength through sharing their experiences.

Free Nutrition Class for Cancer Patients and Survivors
The Monticello Cancer Center is offering free nutrition classes for cancer patients and survivors the second Wed of every month at 1 p.m. at the Monticello Cancer Center. Topics addressed include benefits of good nutrition, managing eating problems during treatment, how to read food labels and how to eat well after cancer treatment ends. All are welcome to attend.

The LinkAge Line/RX Connect™ program offers free personalized assistance to help consumers find low cost prescriptions drug assistance.
Several prescription programs exist through the pharmaceutical companies, as well as with the Minnesota HealthCare Programs and Social Security for those qualifying individuals regardless of age.

Wright County Community Action currently has programs available to assist individuals who are in the process of rental eviction or mortgage foreclosure.

Volunteer drivers needed.
The Wright County Volunteer Transportation Program is in need of volunteer drivers to take people to medical appointments.
Some special needs at this time are trips for dialysis, radiation, and trips to the Veterans Hospitals.
There are also many shorter trips that need drivers. The county will reimburse drivers at $.50 for each mile driven.
