CONCORDIA COLLEGE
Brooke Maruska, Big Lake is the recipient of a Faculty Scholarship and will participate in the Credo Honors Program at Concordia.
Maruska, a 2014 graduate of Big Lake HS, is the daughter of Darin and Melissa, Big Lake.
High school activities in which Brooke has participate include: Honor Student Top 10 Percent, NHS, Girls Track & Field Captain, Girls Basketball, Football Manager, Treble Choir, Presidential Outstanding Acad-emic Excellence and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
 
NORTH DAKOTA STATE UNIVERSITY
Morgan Wilburn, Big Lake was recognized by North Dakota State University for having made the Dean's List in the College of Science and Mathematics for the Spring Semester 2014.

The following students have been named to the dean's list for academic excellence during the Spring 2014 semester. To earn dean's list distinctions in SDSU's colleges, students must have completed a minimum of 12 credits and must have earned at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Michigan Technological University
Michigan Technological Univ honored the achievements of nearly 1,000 graduates May 3 at Spring Commencement, including the following students from the local area:
Helena Keller, Elk River, Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.
 
University of Wisconsin-Stout
Undergraduate and graduate students participated in commencement ceremonies at University of Wisconsin-Stout in May.
Kristy Waller of Big Lake, received an M.S. in applied psychology.
Amanda Okerson of Big Lake, received a B.S. in hotel restaurant and tourism.
Benjamin Barber of Big Lake, received a B.S. in supply chain management.
Lindsey Gillan of Elk River, received a B.S. in hotel restaurant and tourism.
Brenna Herzog of Elk River, received a B.S. in hotel restaurant and tourism.
Lauren Jenkins of Elk River, received a B.S. in human development and family studies.
 
The College of Saint Scholastica
Local students graduated from The College of St. Scholastica May 10 in a commencement ceremony at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center.
Halie J. Hommes of Big Lake graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Health Sciences.
Kyle D. Orrock of Elk River graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.
Destiny M. Lovelette of Elk River graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Joshua A. Subialka of Elk River graduated with a Doctor of Physical Therapy in Physical Therapy.
 
Buena Vista University
Courtney Muenchow, Monticello, was named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2014 semester at Buena Vista University. Students named to the Dean's List must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 for the semester, based on a 4.0 grade point system, and must have taken at least 12 hours of coursework.
 
Bucknell University
Alyshia Scholl , Elk River, daughter of Charles and Miki Scholl and a 2010 graduate of Blake School-Northrup Campus, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Cell Biology/ Biochemistry.
